To all our volunteers,
Here is a quick outline of our Fishing Outing for the Disabled on Saturday, June 7, 2008 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Rain or Shine) at the Darlington County Park in Mahwah, NJ.
The outing is run by the Bergen Bassmasters of Oradell. The Bergen County Parks & Recreation, the Ridgewood Department of Parks, Inserra Supermarkets, Meadows Office Furniture, and Ramsey Outdoor are co-sponsors.
All the fishing supplies, bait, bathrooms, food and drink will be paid for by Bergen Bassmasters. We have solicited donations for this event.
Entertainment is also part of the day. A disc jockey will be lakeside and hay rides will be available throughout the day. An awards ceremony will take place during the last half hour of the day. Trophies, prizes and medallions will be given away. No one goes away empty handed.
Our volunteers are asked to help out in any of the following ways: Helping the contestants bait hooks, casting rods, reeling in the fish, weighing in the fish and keeping score, serving food and drinks lakeside, serving ice cream, helping those who want to get on the hay ride, help with clean up, or just be a companion to the contestants in general.
